Boot is a good choice. The fishing is pretty decent and there is a very nice campsite as you round the corner where the lake turns north. I've had good fishing around the giant rock and near the narrows at the north end. Gun and Gull are also excellent fishing spots. Boot is probably a good choice because most people pass straigt through. Doing a loop going out through Boot and back through Moose Camp should be no problem and sounds fun. The trip into Fourtown can be a struggle if the beavers have been actively chainging the landscape. Last time I was there the second portage was not accessible due to a bunch of trees in the water, and the steep cliffs on either side made for an interesting experience. But that can change from week to week as the beavers do their work, so you never know. Posted by Trout Scout on April 29, 2002 at 10:04 |
