Water levels were pretty normal. I was quite pleased to find an improved beaver dam had dried the last tricky part of one of my portages nicely.

This trip I did more photo hunting than fishing but I'd say the bass fishing was definitely sub par. I did catch a few more later in the trip with leaches but I've never used them before so I can't really judge. I was fishing for walleye at the time and caught exactly zero of them. (I'm still bummed about that although the shallow lakers helped ease my pain) This trip it was the lakers that got between my lure and the walleyes, usually it's the bass. Northern fishing was good as always. They were fighting better than I remember and very acrobatic as well.

Have a great trip and watch out for slivers on the S.B. portage. ;-)
