Fred, I thought that the young bucks were supposed to carry the heavy stuff for the oldtimers!!! I'm in my 40's & have done the Kas portage a couple times. Don't let some reports deter your trip to get into one heck of a good fishing lake. With all the rain I'll bet there is some pretty good whitewater to be had.
