Jim, It's about 11-12 miles from French to Stanton Bay. You'll need an outfitter to cart you in (OR pick you up) there, unless they've changed the rules in the past couple years. If you need the names of some good ones, just say so. I'm sure several of us who post here can make recommendations. I'm thinking that the French entry permit covers Stanton (as a point of entry), but I may have it wrong. DB or one of the other regular contributors here will be sure to know that. OR, just check with Park officials or an outfitter. Wind & waves can be particularly rough on Pickerel, given the long east-west orientation. Stanton Bay has been more than once a welcome safe haven for us when trying to escape big waves on Pickerel!
