Re: Montgomery area pictographs

Yes, I did see them personally. Old Buck & I discovered them in 1993 & I've got pictures. The Chatterton Lake site is located on the SE cliff face on the large island near the McDougal portage. We found them while paddling over to fish Splitrock Falls. They are quite faded & hard to see so search carefully. The Montgomery Lake site was discovered by us on the same trip while walleye fishing while Snowdog & college buddy searched in vain for the ones on Montgomery Creek. In the midsection of the lake, there is a large island. North of that island are two small islands. The site is on the North island on the SE side in the channel on a cliff face. Another interesting find was the Japanese Garden along the portage between Shelley & Montgomery lakes. If anyone else is able to find any of these sites in their journeys this year, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks
