Just returned from 3 weeks up the Gunflint (two on Clearwater and one on Sag). The flies where a nusance. I found the best way to deal with them (and all the other biters) is a full body mosquitoe suit. Approx. $50.00 through Gander Mountain or Cabela's. At first most people scoffed at the suit until they noticed they were the only ones swatty at the files and biters. I went about my business fishing.....!
