Smart move.

Don't know why I bothered to pack a radio for special weather bulletins as I failed to heed their warnings. If it had been early May or October, I think I would have had the sense to get the heck out while I could (cold temps, ice, hypothermia, etc.). Guess I figured an August blast could only get so bad and that we could hunker down for it.

I think it was the "snapping trees" part that finally got the "idiot light" flashing in my brain....

PS. The normally "easy" portage out of Beaverhouse to the parking lot was a quagmire on Sunday morning. We watched about a half dozen smiling, hopeful new campers go sprawling face-first into slippery mud as we hauled our wet load out. What a welcome. Yes, you got out just in time.
