Well, actually I've been back a couple weeks now but have been busy catching up on work and such, after all I was gone for 16 days so things tend to pile up. Well, as always had a wonderful time, weather was pretty good, it did rain almost every night with one full day of rain but my belief is that the fish will not get any wetter so the rain really doesn't matter aye? Spent one night on Ester then the portage into Cherry, whew, that one will get your attention. Paddled on to Amoeber, great lake, stayed on the island campsite and had some GREAT fishing, all total I guess maybe 30 smallies or so with a few 17 incher's. We paddled out to Ottertrack and stayed at the camp that is west of the Ester portage. Nice camp, has a 12 foot rock wall on some deep water, nice area to jump/dive/swim. The down side of this camp was the previous campers. Cigarette butts all around the camp, pistaccio nut shells as well. To top it all off the rock wall area they had dumped a pot of pasta in the water on the rocks. Very disgusting to see as well as to think that someone would do such a thing. Managed to clean up most of the mess, maybe some butts we missed but for the most part was clean. Anyway, other than having to play someone's mother for a few hours had a great time. Can't wait to get back. It is worth the 17 hour drive.
