Wish I could help. Antoine IS known for big but hard-to-find lakers. We hope to get there, too, in some not-too-distant Spring. Please post your results (including locations of any decent campsites you might see). Don't know anything at all about Ram.

For what it's worth, we were catching lake trout using deep-diving white plugs in about 35-40 feet of water over in Cirrus just 3-4 weeks ago. Seemed awfully shallow for August.

Also, if you receive the Boundary Waters Journal, it seems to me they published a story a couple years ago that mentioned the lake. I'll see if I can find it & cite the issue for you before you leave on 9/14.
