Make it a Quetico site - that would definitely be easier! Here's my problem, though. When my lovely wife Anne agreed to marry me, I told her there's only one condition: we must go to the woods at least once a year or I would not be a happy camper (non-camper?). For the past four years I've been trying to talk her into crossing the border to no avail. Why won't she go? Well . . . let's just say she's concerned about the lack of facilities in Quetico. Bluntly, she's not fond of shitting in the woods! I've reassured her it's no big deal, but so far my pleas have fallen on deaf ears. I might have to buy one of the portable toilet-seat contraptions and see if that'll sway her. So, our campfire memories together include the BWCA grate that gets in the way of a decent campfire after cooking dinner, and that's why I've gotta have one in my VBWCA. The bottom line for me is, any taste of the northwoods is great - whether it be the Boundary Waters or Quetico. But here's the icing on the wedding cake - this year, as we paddled up the Little Indian Soiux River to our take-out (95 degrees in Sept - yikes!) Anne got so tired of me pushing her to go to Canada, she actually said: "Why don't you just go yourself!" Hmm...what a great idea! I'm going on a solo to Quetico next September!!!!
