I was up there last spring and the portage into Little Gabro is about as good as it is going to get. We did not fish Turtle but we did find fish on Gabro. We camped on a island a little short of Bald Eagle. Just past our island was a sandy beach which we fished on hot afternoon but caught nothing. Most of the fish we caught on Gabro were walleyes.
