100' of 550 cord
Juan Cabano added this item on April 14, 2001 This cord is made of some really strong nylon braided together and covered with a nylon sheath. You can use it to tie stuff off or if needed you can cut a length of it and use one of the white strands to sew any kind of tear in your clothing, tent or sleeping bag. When your done with it you can use your lighter to singe the cut ends to keep it from unraveling. Anyone who has been in the military knows just how great this cord is!! |

A guy in our party one year sat on his rimless glasses. Mr. Fix-It twisted them back into shape with a Leatherman, then cut open the parachute cord and used one of the strands as the "rim'' that holds the glass to the frame, melting the ends to hold it in place. |

It is used to keep track of paces by tying knots in the string or pulling beads across the lenght. |
