We paddled the Namekegon/St Croix a few years ago. It's a great route. Great set up for canoe camping and FREE. We started downstream of Trego and ended at Grantsburg. 3 days.

The Namekegon is more intimate. We saw so many bald eagles on this river we stopped counting. Good fishing too!

Except for the Kettle Rapid section of the St Croix I liked the Nam better. Kettle Rapids is 5 miles of continous swifts and CI-II raps.
