The rivers have been accessable now up here for a while & some of the smaller lakes are  opening up. I still haven't made my 1st paddle yet, been too busy with work & my dads situation at the hospital. I need a vacation even if it for only a few hours paddling around somewhere. I was hoping to get out on Good Friday, but it looks like I wil have to work Sad

We have acres and acres to paddle now.. Usually you have to drive to lakes from NW Minnesota, but wheat and beet fields are flooded. Looked kinda funny today to see two canoes paddling to a farmhouse that was totally surrounded by water.  It was probably a foot deep.

I walked the west shore from the Coon Rapids dam to 610 last weekend and there was no ice near shore, plenty of places to launch, although the water is still very cold!

W_W,

Where are you?  I was able to paddle the Mississippi on Feb. 29th in the Twin Cities at Islands of Peace.  If you are close to there, you may want to give that a shot - the water is not ice but is still very cold.  If you do go out, be careful.

Dang it Sad ...... The put in an take outs looked a little hairy on the Mississippi, we got some fresh snow & we still have 6-10 feet of ice before the open water, I am not in the mood to see how cold the water is, looks like I will have to wait till after Copia Smiley
