Thanks, flpaddler.  That's the type of info I'm looking for, so I'll see if I can round up that book.

Thanks.

gcw,
I have not had the opportunity to paddle the Blackwater River although it is on my list. Here is a reference guide I have found useful: A Canoeing and Kayaking Guide to the Streams of Florida, it is a two volume set. You would more than likely be interested in volume 1, North Central Peninsula and Panhandle, by Elizabeth F. Carter & John L. Pearce, Menasha Ridge Press. The book describes how to get to put in point’s, river mileage, places to camp and a description of the flora and fauna. I hope this will help.

Looks like my trip options are limited this year, and I likely will not be able to make the 24-hour drive to northern MN, so I'm looking for several closer paddles.  The Blackwater River in the Florida Panhandle is about a 6 hour drive away.  It looks like it could be an interesting few days.

Anyone here paddled that river or its Blackwater State Forest tributaries?

Thanks.
