Wow, Jimbo!   Shocked   No wonder those hats were causing a stir earlier.    IC

Yep, IC, the vision has come to me:

There we shall be, at some future Jimboree island, its perimeter decorated with pinkusses, all of us Jimboreers duded up in our fine official Bannock Bird Hats (see (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) )                        sitting around the fire "gwwwaaaakkking" in our secret flamingus society bird talk!  Add in a little bushwhacker balladeering & voyager rap & I think we'd have the makings of a truly unique park event.

Heck, let's upgrade that to truly unique INTERSTELLAR event!

Alas, it's too bad we won't be able to spice up your August trip with such a fine pink flourish.   Nevertheless, it sounds like you have a good trip planned.  Travel safely.

Gwwaakk, gwwaak!

Aye!Aye! Captain...gwaakkkkkk!
Pinkus herself is staying home in August, she found a couple of her flock in the neighbor's lakeside garden across the island, and I barely see her anymore.  They are migrating back to California by September 1st, so will definitely have Pink along for company in the kayak in September, to explore Darky to Joyce and then south back to MN.  IC

IC -

If it's foggy, just: 1) plant the bird in a high spot, then 2) give the old Pinkus Flamingus secret clan "bird call" a try.

A few well-executed hoots & cackles are sure to draw birds-of-a-feather to your camp.

A few cookoos, anyway....

August LaCroix/Argo/Nina Moose trip:  We are going to be in the BWCA and Q starting Aug.10th.  Hope to run into some of my friends from the QJ and QP boards to say Hi!  Leaving via Little Indian Sioux, to Loon Lake, through LaCroix (3 days) to LaCroix station, then Quetico through Maligne entry, then Minn, McAree, Crooked, Rolands, and Argo...back via Crooked, Iron, Boulder River and Nina Moose/Agnes to Echo Trail.  Will be coming out by the 23rd.  If I can find some...will put a couple pinkus flamincus stickers on my kayak.  Our other two canoes are yellow Winonahs.  Please say Hi if you see us!  IC
