Was just thinking back on several different road trips I've made back and forth to Florida from Minnesota over the years. Been to some great State Parks with good places to paddle I thought I would share with you...Lake Pepin, southern MN; The Great River Road from New Orleans to Bemidji MN goes through lots of neat towns and wonderfull scenery; Navoo on the Mississippi in Illinois, very old town, very beautiful camping park overlooking the river under huge pine; Cahokia, the New York city of the Woodland Indians, the moundbuilders whose civilization was well advanced in AD 1000, before Europeans began to set foot on N America and decimate populations with old world diseases. Cahokia is at East St. Louis, Illinois and has a great museum and pyramid sized earth works. Edgar Evans State Park between Nashville and Knoxville, TN and located on a big reservoir, has unique bridge-like campsites cantilevered out over the steep shorelines, right next to the water. These are the ones I remember most fondly...IC
