Canoecraft.
An illustrated guide to fine woodstrip construction.
By Ted Moores.

If you ever found yourself thinking you might be able to build your own canoe, this should be the first book to read.
A few years back I began to research building my own cedar strip canoe. This book was one of the first I acquired. Even now when working on a project, either for myself or a friend, I keep it handy for an expert referance. It walks the reader through a very detailed, step by step account of preparation and construction. The author even provides plans to draw up for eight different boats. I believe they also sell detailed blueprints of these and other boats at their website.
