hey wablaakiller,

I lived in Memphis for 10 yrs.  Just moved back up North.  You may look into a trip on the Buffalo river closer to Nashville.  A very pretty, clear water river with lots of largemouth.  Also, you can put in east of Moskow I think and take the Wolf river right into Germantown.  Lots and lots of water mocassins on this route.   And if you really, really, want to bushwack it, I think you can take the Hatchie from just Southwest of Brownsville all the way to the Miss. River .

We also made some trips on the Buffalo River in Arkansas.  Absolutely, unbelievably, beautiful.

Nobody here from the Memphis area that I know of.  Bett luck if you try your question over on Paddling.net, and look there for trip reports also

Hey friends, I'm looking for a canoe trip somewhere in the Memphis, TN area. I'll be coming from Indianapolis and will either pick up my partner in Memphis or possibly meet him somewhere in the middle.  My general internet searches pull up float/beer trips which we're not really after.  Solitude and fish required.  Thanks!
