Apart from various tidbits of info. I gathered from trip notes, the main reference of this site in the book was a statement made near the end about using this site for more information about the park. I think this site is awesome and wanted to let readers know about it.

I see.  Well, if you ever need a source for Whisky Selection while canoe camping I can help out.  Different malts go with different lakes you know.  Just like choosing a wine with any given meal it can be equally as challenging for the lay person to choose a scotch for the given lake.  Maybe we can co-author?

I understand your concern but please know that I would not use this site to make $. It's simply a way to tranfer and give out information on a subject that means a lot to me.

I guess it's about intentions Kevin.  Self promotion for commercial purposes has never got very far here and lately there has been a rash of "advertising" disguised as "Hey, I'm only here to help".  People with little participation who drive through the forum and drop a URL hoping we follow and whip out our Visa's.  I have nothing against this BTW but when your 4th post is of the same disguise? . . . Well,  it just smelled a little funky is all and just wasn't very polite.

One serious question though, if you reference QJ in your book, who and/or what is referenced?  (Or do I have to buy the book?) ©

Not sure of your point here guys. I previously promoted a book about Quetico and thought it would be appropriate to mention it on this site, especially because I referenced to the site a lot throughout the book (see index); and now I'm mentioned my web site where you can get free information on a route that other users from this site have asked me about, and that there is a link of this site on my web site.

I'm always open minded about points made by others but I just don't get this one.

Most folks ask permission to advertise and then pay for it.  Oops, did I just say that?  Lips Sealed

Hello,

I thought everyone would want to know that my web site is being launched tomorrow. kevincallan.com will be official, and according to some of you I chatted with at Canoecopia last week, it's a long time coming. The coolest thing about it, in my opinion, is my "favorite" trip notes that I'll be changing on a regular basis. It wil also have  a direct link to my blog on the Explore Magazine site, which now has text and map info. on my 2007 Kopka River trip as well as films, including the one of my canoemate Andy and I in Quetico. They will also have the full CBC Fresh Air interviews of our Kopka River trip. Cool. I'm very excited.
