The Voyageur's Highway, by Grace Lee Nute

First published by the Minnesota Historical Society in 1941, my copy is one my dad received as a gift in 1976. It's a history lesson, and a very good read. I read this several times in the weeks and months before my trip this spring.

The book talks about the trappers, the natives, the times, and the route from Grand Portage to Lake Winnipeg, with a lot of focus on the BW / Q part.

On my A list.
