sent a broken tent pole back to them last week. they never asked how old the tent was, how often it was used, or the circumstances when it broke. they just replaced it. the customer service guy said "hey, things happen man, no problem."

Nice to hear that a company really stood up for a warranty.  I have heard very good things about Big Agnes.
I bought my last tent so that My wife and I could situp and play cards, we even did that when it wasn't raining. Wink

Days prior to this summer's trip I found my 3 - 4 year old Big Agness SL Seedhouse 2 tacky to the touch. I suspected the waterproof coating was deteriorating. I gave Big Agness a call for their thoughts and was told to return the tent. Yesterday, I received a new tent. Thank you, Big Agness!

On a similiar note, because I found the problem so late, I took my small non-free standing, one-man backpacking tent instead. It rained long and hard on this year's trip. Thus, it would have been nicer to have a larger tent. Many of the campsites had signs of flowing water or pooling. The non-free standing features made this tent so much more difficult to find suitable campsites. Every morning I also had lots of condensation on the fly. Bottom line, bigger is better in rainy weather.
