Here's the only Yngwie I'm aware of...Yngwie Malmsteen...Swedish heavy-metal guitar legend of the 80's.  I'd forgotten how good he is.

The Garmin's website will let you check out the maps online. I use Topo Canada. Not as detailed as some paper maps, but it works OK. Enough to relate to the paper maps I also carry.

welcome aboard, youngwives?????? Grin

Ok- first post here, so be gentle, I beg you.

1. Yes, I am bringing a map and compass and know how to use both- but the GPS is just so darned handy....

2. My current Garmin GPS quits at the border.  It covers darn near every lake in the BWCAW, but once you cross the dotted line...it displays Hudson Bay and nothing in between (I may be exagerating).

3. Does anyone have experience with the best choice of Garmin map software for my Quetico needs?  Does the Garmin TOPO Canada map have enough detail, or am I missing the "Quetico Special" set of software somewhere?

Thanks for your help!
