I too have read all of the books in the Cork O'Connor series. I always look forward to the release of the next one and while Kreuger has hinted that this series may soon be coming to an end, I selfishly hope that is not the case.
I'm not convinced that Heaven's Keep was his strongest in the series, but that may just be personal preference. This book seemed to me to be a huge departure from the previous books, and while it didn't totally work for me, I was captivated and had a hard time putting it down.
I certainly reccomend this series for a fun read. Like JChief, I started with "Boundary Waters," then went back to "Iron Lake." The character develop has been fun to read and I have appreciated the redmeptive nature of some of those relationships, especially the relationship between Cork and Joe. Perhaps that is why "Heaven's Keep" left me a bit dissapointed.
I will be interesting to see where Kreuger goes from here.

Jimbo: I started with Boundry Waters (due to a search for the term on the library website) then saw your post. Went back to Iron Lake and then read all of the rest in the O'Connor series through Heaven's Keep. Krueger's books are easy to read and he does a great job of character development. I am currently reading the Devil's Bed, his only non Cork O'Conner series book to date and am enjoying that as well. I understand there is a new book in the series due out this month. I would recommend his books to anyone looking for a good read.

If you've read any of the Cork O'Connor series by Krueger you will want to read "Heaven's Keep." It's a real page-turner. Characters are strong, as usual. Having made my first trip to the Rockies last summer, this book really strikes home w/Krueger's great portrayal of the Wyoming I remember. If you've read ANY of books in this series & liked them, you can't miss this one!
Krueger captures the flavor of 1st Nation perspective. He captures the spirit of the north land (MN & other places north). This is an unique rewarding crime genre of its very own. I'll read anything this guy writes!
