Nice to meet you at Copia. Sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you more. If I remember right, you were getting a racing canoe last year. Check out this link for some tune-up paddling before Mizzu 340. You might be able to contact some local paddling teams to train with too. Practice wake riding, etc. It you can handle the boat well and surf in a pack, you'll save yourself tons of energy. Just like biking in a group.

Wow, thats about 85 miles a day. Even with a river current that's some work. Some of those finish times are only a few minutes apart, about the difference of a pee break.
I live in Weldon Spring, a tiny 'burb of St. Chuck. PM me if you need anything on this end.

In what may turn out to be the craziest thing I've ever signed up to do in my life, I'll be participating in the MR340 this July.
In case you're not familair, it's the longest nonstop canoe race in North America. Basically, you have 88 hours to get from Kansas City to St. Charles (just outside St. Louis). For more info, check out (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).
I'm wondering if anyone else is participating this year. My team is in the men's tandem division. It looks like we're the only team both from Wisconsin, so it may be nice to have some friendly QJers around.
And, yes, I actually do think this will be kinda fun.
