The well traveled border lakes in the BW have sites that have spots for castles IMHO.
As do some of the more well traveling lakes like Brule, Alton, and Cherokee around Sawbill EP

You may want to take a peek at CCS, cant speak yet to the "long haul" at I just picked mine up, Dan's stuff is well regarded. The home grown made in the US thing I like though. Spent a week so far in one backyarding the trial and sealing process, not to freaked out about the ground cloth thing yet. Sierra Designs stuff... I have always been very happy with. Also be sure to look at Big Agnes, very happy with them inclusive of total mass; and both SD and BA have proven themselves to me with miles just like Eureka's timberlines .

To answer a couple of questions,
I have done this route many times, ( it is outside of both BW and Q ), and there are prechosen sites that have tent areas that will take 1 larger tent as well as a couple smaller tents at each place that we camp. We need a larger tent because of the way the numbers work out with kids / leaders / who can be with who.
The tent is for sleeping only - I am big on tarps as well.
Anybody with any experience on the larger tents????
I have some ideas but was hoping for some input.

Echoing S_D's sentiment.  Everywhere I've tripped there are sites with no room for a big tent, but lots of room for 2-3 person tents.

Curious.  Is the larger tent desired for sleeping in or for bad weather being weather bound?  I hate tents for being weather bound.  Tarps are much better.  Can stand up.  Can look at something other than the dirty face of your tentmate.  Nothing like watching a storm roll in while under a well-pitched tarp next to the fire.  Also tents make the pitter-pat falling off trees after the storm is gone sound like it's still raining.

Tarps rule!  Tents suck!

Something to think about is the larger footprint of a larger tent may make some sites unuseable as the tent may not fit on existing tent pads.  I know in the Q, tent pads are rarely large enough for anything larger than a 4-man tent.  Things may be different in the BWCA but other will know more about that than me.

I lead youth group trips each year and there are times that a tent larger than a 4 man Timberline would work nice.
Does anyone have any experience with 5 or 6 man tents?
