I bet you have the plastic version. This metal powder coated one has to be close to 3/4 lb I bet but I could be mistaken.........It will go on the Superior expedition boat. Not going to be portaging that to much.

.I think it is close to a ton.

Wow, what kind of system do you have?  I have a Garmin 60C.  My RAM mounting system involves a bracket that attaches to the garmin and has a ball on it, a 3" arm that attaches to balls on either side, and a ball bracket that I screwed into the thwart.  Total weight for the 3 pieces is 6.5 ounces.

Earlier this winter I picked up a RAM mounting system for my GPS. While I love the durability and flexibility of the RAM systems I was less enamored with the weight.......I think it is close to a ton.

When I seen that RAM has come out with a "mini" version of some of its products I directed a query to "the mount guys.com" to see if the new RAM would fit my garmin. They replied promptly and said no but directed me to a marine mount made by Garmin which is substantially lighter (probably 3/4 lighter). They also directed me to a plastic version of the RAM system which would also be lighter. I have received the Garmin marine mount and am quite happy.

These fellows are to be recommended. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
I would suggest telling them what your needs are and they will provide a link to the best product. I told them I was concerned with excess weight (they told me to go on a diet) and bingo.
