We have known many folks that have travelled upstream to Olive Lake over the years. They choose to do it starting somewhere in mid-summer or in lower water.  Spring freshet we wouldn't advise as the current is quite strong.

So its a "watch the waterlevels" kind of a upstream trip.

Late July to Oct is when most wil go that way.

Question for probably Doug or Claire... I'm wondering how difficult it is to paddle up the Chukuni from Pine Ridge Rd to Olive Lake? I thought I read Jim Hegi or somebody having trouble getting past a chute or something.
