I asked a fisherman on Douglas Lake and he said Northern and Lake Trout on Hatchet. Two portages away is Embryo and its Walleye. There is a fly-in camp on Embryo. There is a campsite on an island in the southern part of Embryo. Hatchet campsite 1 mile south of portage to Peterson Lake. It has four tent pads, nice view from a point. It takes two to four hours to reach Hatchet Campsite from Johnson Lake entry point.

No fish! No camping... No seriously, if I wanted this kind of info, I would search this forum, as there are several trip reports, etc. and PM those who may have been to Hatchet. BTW, I have not been there.

Actually, I let trip goals determine which lakes I should visit. I don't pick a lake without any knowledge of it. Wink

Anyone fished on Hatchet Lake - how are the campsites on the lake?  Thanks for your help.
