Being Caribou, by Karsten Heuer
Five Months on Foot with an Arctic Herd

Just finished reading. Pretty fast read. Pulls you into the wilderness traveling state of mind as a man and his young wife try to follow a caribou herd to the calving grounds and back. Reveals insights into the mix of cultures, wildlife, and oil drilling reserves in the far north.
Very good at capturing a feel and tone of a place that's very special. I think most QJ readers would enjoy this book.

I picked it up at a Yellowknife book store a couple summers ago. It was recommended by a fellow tripper that year. I'm still working though the pile of books from that one visit. This one was good.
