mastertangler....thanks - it's good to know someone reads (and remembers) my trip reports. I'd write them anyway 'cause I enjoy it. I like reading them and looking at  photos of previous trips. Call me sentimental I guess.

It is kinda special to make a trip in a boat I built, add in the time with my son, some luck fishing and good weather and you've got one very happy camper.

Another gorgeous boat.........

It must be a very special feeling, those first paddle strokes at the start of a trip in a boat that you have made. Very nice! Thumbs Upup

Make sure you have a good stringer of walleyes trailing behind the boat again to get those big pike fired up Wink

On Sunday June 3, I’ll be putting in at Nym Lake and making my way down to Sturgeon Lake then back. Two years ago I did this trip with my 20 something son (trip report and gallery photos on QJ) and we really hammered the big pike. We had a great time, it was my best trip ever, just the two of us. I’ll be repeating that same route this time with his twin brother. We’ll be paddling the canoe I made just for this trip…If anyone is in the area the same time and happens to see us…paddle up and say hi!
