In the Jackson Citizen Patriot Outdoors section on 9/6 there was an article about Craig lake State Park. Sounds like a nice place. Here is a link:

was there 2 years ago. friend of mine's family goes every year. was quiet when we went, never more than 3 canoes/kayaks on the lake the whole week. fishing was fair to good. there was a smaller lake nearby that we portaged in to that was loaded with smallies. good action there but the smallies were smallish. i don't remember the lake's name.

Anyone canoed Craig Lk State Park in the UP of Michigan? I've heard it's a small slice of the Canadian shield with decent fishing. Steve aka Basser
