I've read the book also. Very gripping story, you can see the lead up to the accident though. He was always pushing to the next adventure. I wouldn't say reckless but always pushing. Saw the movie to not bad for a Hollywood story telling.

I searched the category, and even though this is nearly a ten-year-old story,  didn't see that anyone else has posted this one.

This is Aron Ralston's story about getting trapped by a boulder in Bluejohn Canyon in Utah, and he eventually had to amputate his arm to get out. It was made into the film "127 Hours" a few years ago. I had the chance to hear him give a talk a couple of weeks ago, and was lucky enough to meet him after and chat for a bit. Quite a guy, with an unbelievable story. The book is very well written and holds your attention throughout.

We talk a lot here about survival situations, but this guy takes the prize!
