The issue with ORC was three fold.  Initially, I guess they came up with the acronym without reading the Hobbit and/or Lord of the Rings?

Secondly, they could not build boats with the sheltered work staff.  Parts left out of laminations, pre-cut thwarts in the wrong boats, etc, etc.

Lastly, they never immersed in Paddlesports culture, insisting they had a better way, which caused retailers to pull away, which left them without a market.

So it goes.

My Level 4 Windshirt just arrived.
Very well made but elegant in it's simplicity.
It has a big front zipper that opens top or bottom to vent excess heat.
Considering I looked at some shirts that were well above $100+, this was a steal at their sale price.

Hey Zski -- short version, ORC owns Bell Canoe Works, but they're not making any canoes.  Haven't made canoes for a number of years.

Ted Bell has a new company, and is making canoes once again.  I think you'll be seeing/reading a bunch of new information about his new canoe company pretty soon.

I like to support American Made products.
It's even better when they employ the disabled and service the Military.

I just purchased a LEVEL 4 Windshirt from these folks.
If your like minded, check them out. Thumbs Upup
