My absolute favorite hiking or trail socks!  Even wear them to work when I am going to be on my feet all day!

Are they mail order only outfit?

My first few pairs were mail order but I recently picked some up to serve as dress/casual at REI.

Have to add an endorsement here. I wore Darn Tuff socks on an Appalachian Trail hike. They are without any doubt the very best socks on the market. They are  certainly capable of enduring a Quetico trip, and keeping your feet in shape. I wish everything delivered the value that these socks deliver.

looks like a very good product. made in usa + lifetime guarantee,
considering quality and guarantee, i don't think they're too expensive.
My son picked up a few pairs of these (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links); and likes them a lot.

The jury was out for a while but the verdict is in.......darn tough socks are probably the best socks on the planet. They beat the crap out of smart wool that's for sure. My smart wool socks have some holes in them which surprised me and they are occasionally a bit hot.

The Vermont brand is several years old now and they still look like the day I bought them. Impressive........on the other hand they better or the company may have to change its name, they have a lifetime warranty against wear. I have never heard of such a thing for a pair of socks.

In any event, they are so comfy I am slowly switching out my regular dress/casual socks to darn tough. Besides, I like the name  Wink.........they're Not just for tripping........

Yup they are a wee bit pricey. But you buy them once, that's a deal ill take every time.

Quite a bit of material in the review dept. concerning smart wool vs darn tough. Not much of a contest IMO.
