Good read. The story of Merriweather Lewis by Stephen Ambrose. Profiles his background, earlier life in Virginia, close friendship with Jefferson, and his extraordinary skills as a leader. Reminded me of Sir Ernest Shackelton's skills at organizing an expedition and managing/motivating his crew through difficult times. I also visited  Camp Du Bois on the Illinois-side of the Mississippi at the beginning of March. The keelboat mock-up alone was worth the trip.
