I'm disappointed to be missing the festivities this year! However, my future bow paddler is expected to be born in late March, and Madison is just a little too far from home - too close to the big day. Have a Spotted Cow for me!

Congrats! Get ready for "sleepless in Denver"!

Congrats Dan! That's great news! You can bring the new addition to your family to future Copia's so the training can begin. Cool

OS, I've booked a room at the CI&S, Menona for Friday and Saturday.  They are still giving the $115 rate.  My cousin moved out of town and I decided not to make the long drive out/back to my sister's so I could spend more time in town this year.

Just made the decision to not go to an annual professional conference I've been to every year since 1982 that is same weekend as Copia this year, and do Copia instead.  Part of my New Year resolution - play more work less.  Got a room at (east side) Hampton for $84.

We have been taking our granddaughter to northern Minnesota on vacation ever since she was five years old (she is from the Chicago area and she is thirteen now.)  The traditional "first stop" overnight has been at the HGI in Middleton where we relax and unwind and start to anticipate our good times.  We swim, have dinner at the steak house across the street, swim some more.  Get up in the morning and swim again.  Then head for the cities to visit with our friends there.  Anna is big into tradition.   Smiley  Because we missed our trip this past year due to Spartan1's illness, she is especially looking forward to the chance for Canoecopia this year--also, she is a HUGE Jerry Vandiver fan, and she will be excited to be at as many of his concerts there as we can manage to make.  We enjoy the "Paddle Songs" so much.

and part of the incentive for her to go is to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Middleton.  (great pool.)

Yep, I live in Middleton and we often meet family and friends staying there for a swim. It's great. Safe travels and enjoy your visit!

My first Copia was '81 and I haven't missed one in the past 10 years or so. Also a big fan of Bike O' Rama. Good weekend in Madison!

I'll probably go just for Sunday.  Will make the presentation if you do it on that day.  My goal is to see the canoes.  I need motivation to plop down big money.  I need to feel the lightness and see the beauty of a new Magic.

i'll probably just go Sunday too.
