Off to MN on the first flight out tomorrow. Four days to kick around Ely, then Outlander and I will hit the water at PP on Wednesday. Maybe I'll swing by and see Don Beland again. I hope the weather is good add the fishing is excellent! Paddle on folks!

Ahhh....the gauntlet has been thrown. I'm confident in my skills and will let the trail fare speak for itself....after all, the proof is in the pudding....backcountry crème brulee anyone?
Well, let’s not throw gauntlets! Someone could get hurt if gauntlets are hurled! The good news is that no one will go hungry with our gourmet chef in charge. “Hurling” is not the mental picture to have as we consider the gourmet meals we will enjoy.
If you’re considering Stew’s offer, contact him. I’m looking forward to tripping with him.

“Excellent Camp chef”. I have exceptionally high standards as those who have traveled with me can testify. Where else can one get pink flamingo stew. It’s even named ‘stew’. I may report back after our trip?

Thanks for the encouragement Tom. The only suitable dog I have is myself - that and I prefer tripping partners that can generally take care of themselves and help with the motorvation. I'll work any angle that sounds suitable and agreeable, re: meet ups and such.

Do you have a dog that would be suitable? I would go solo just for the new adventure it would bring. Maybe you could plan a rendevoux with another solo or a group ahead of time.

I'm interested in finding a paddler/trip partner for an August Q trip. Entry point Sarah Lake via PP, entry date Aug. 1st, length is 10 days. I'll arrive in Ely on July 28th to hang out around town for a while.
I have two trips planned this summer. The June trip with OS is on track - departure just three weeks out with a June 12 entry and can hardly wait. I had three paddlers back out of the Aug. 1 trip for various personal reasons. If I don't find a suitable candidate, looks like it will be my first solo. I prefer to tandem and prefer someone that doesn't mind paddling bow, but am open to solo canoes. I have an easy going, no rush style, emphasis on enjoying the trip, catching a few fish and am an excellent camp chef. That said, I'm also up for a challenge and the handle 'portage dog' is well earned. Reply or PM with questions or wanting other details.
