no direct experience with the Sea Eagle, but with inflatable kayaks, yes.  They are slow and more susceptible to wind than regular canoes.   I don't like sitting on the floor either - only time I came close was in an Old Town "Next" - that seat was maybe 3 or 4 inches off the deck - I added a boat cushion to get to sit high enough to use a regular paddle.  Seems like you'd want to do the same with that Sea Eagle.  That is a new boat, just came  out last year I think.  Link to one review below.

after looking at the pic's in the review, it looks like the seat is maybe 6" or 8" high and the perspective in one picture with two paddlers does look like they are sitting high enough.

Heavens No!  My queen never paddles. I forbid it.

We would capsize, get lost or probably both.  We're all safer if she doesn't touch a paddle.

I was thinking more remote river tripping myself.  I don't like that you basically sit on the floor and haven't found a review of people using it to fish out of.  A flat bottom would make it terribly slow wouldn't it?  I'll keep digging.

Just put the "QUEEN" in front with a double paddle as YOU troll out the back as you float down the river, sipping on the jug.  Wink Grin Grin

The northern outfitters have gone to Ally canoes from PacBoat for their fly-in trips. I've used both and the Ally is nicer IMO.

No experience with the SeaEagle.

No experience, but it looks like it would be great for remote rivers in Canada and Alaska. I will follow this and would be interested in whatever you learn about them. What are your plans for it? Cool
