I have a Hawkeye and love it. I usually get at least two weeks off of the four or five aaa batteries.....unless I leave the light on..duh! I use the unit a lot during our trips. I would say 30 hours of actual running time is about right. I marks fish fairly well, but will show larger rocks as fish sometimes. Couldn't be happier with it. Safe travels......Mike

Reading MP's informative post I remembered when a few of our QJ family said they have one of these.

I have a Pirahna Max I set up with a battery box but for my style of tripping at least, for now, I don't need or want to haul a fish finder and separate power supply.
I mostly troll while moving, maybe stop at a running water source and fish from shore in camp.
The only time I might use a fish finder is on camp days and even then it won't be for hours at a time.
What I want to know from the REAL TIME experiences of QJ members that have used these is the BATTERY LIFE claim.
I know it will vary some but they claim 30 hrs off 4 AAA batteries? Is that even close? If I could get 20 hrs and take 8 AAA batteries for MY kind of tripping all in one unit, I would be very happy with that.
