All bad news. I wonder if that cabin on Brad survived? Didn't look like it got much use but that dock was a decent place for a plane to pull up to.
That's a real shame about Brad & Eakins. Eakins looked like it had seen some fire in the not too distant past even when we visited there a few years ago. Peaceful places with good fishing. Doesn't get much better than that! I hope they heal soon.
Thanks for the update!

Fires prevented any Atikaki trip in 2025 and will effect some future trips. Fires burned across Brad and Eakens Lake last month. Rain had arrived just as the fires burned the south parts of Rundle. Hoping this is it for fire advancement but a long time until it snows.

Glad to hear Wayne. I can see Jimbo gathering a QJ crowd for a Brad Lake segment of a trip. Lakers next door and a five star camp waiting on Brad lake. Only portage would be to.the Lakers. This year Mike Pebbles is picking up.A friend at the Winnipeg airport so we will.have that option checked out too.

With growing interest it may be time for two Atikaki flying trips in 2025. I have 14 involved this year with others asking about next year. I would like to finally get an important portage from the Bloodvein opened again before heading further north. Done efficiently these trips can be done with flight costs below $550 US. We just need two canoes hauled to Bissett and then the last party coming out to get them back to the midwest.
