Tempting... What day do you expect to be at Cache Bay? I have a Dr appt on Sept 9th I can't miss... And I will be only out from my BW solo a few days before. So we may have to talk. I have my RABC and an Ontario fishing license... If I could find a way to get dropped off to go into Sag and have my truck dropped in Ely it might work... Can you get a permit okay in the Q without a reservation?

We were a little behind schedule - too agressive for us for 6 days - by time we got to Start and Arp but would be curious if you can paddle/pull through. Looks possible on Google Earth.
Beware that the portages from Wet to Louisa have not been maintained in a while and the ARp to Louisa portage - by far the hardest of the lot - had a lot of blow down.

I did Agnes to Kawnipi to Wet and out Louisa in July of 2000. The Wet to Louisa segment was very scenic and I saw lots of moose on that trip and almost no other campers until I got back to Agnes at Louisa Falls. I have always wanted to revisit the area and this will be that opportunity.

I'll be in Q Sep 4 to 9 but in opposite corner - Beaverhouse, Cirrus, Quetico. Just did a lot of your route all on Q side and loved it - especially Wet to Louisa Falls segment. Could become a favorite route.

I plan to do a two week solo in September and would welcome some company for part or all of the trip. My plan is to enter Moose Lake at Ely Labor Day weekend, travel via Birch, Carp, Knife and Cypress to Cache Bay on a BWCA permit. Then get a Quetico permit and travel to Saganagons, Wet and McEwen Lakes and exit via Louisa, Agnes, Sunday and Basswood back to Ely. I'll have lay over days on Saganagons, McEwen and Louisa. If I cross paths with any QJ'ers I hope you will stop and say hello. I sold my big purple tarp but will be even easier to find as I have replaced it with a large, new rasberry red /crimson tarp
