They too prey on mosquitoes. And they keep some of the neighbors away

I was standing on the shore of Quetico Lake, swarmed by mosquitoes and heard the whine of one close to my ear, a dragonfly swooped by my face and around my head and the whine disappeared! Dragonflies definitely eat mosquitoes!

In the right season, we always favored campsites that had dragonflies cruising the site. We considered them to be our friends.
