Title: Favorite Trip Books Post by troutbreath on Sep 5th, 2003 at 2:10pm
I have found that one of my favorite genres of literature is the trip book. Not necessarily canoeing but certainly those are among my very favorites. I suspect that most of us have read some of the same works, but every now and again, I stumble across a book that I should have known about and read. I have listed four of my favorites below. What are some of yours?
TB Paddle to the Amazon (Don Starkell) Don and his son paddle from Manitoba to South America. The Lonely Land. (Sigurd Olson) The story the Sigurd Olson and his Voyagurs going down the Churchill river. Canoeing With the Cree (Eric Sevareid) Eric Sevareid canoed from St.Paul to York factory. Portage into the Past (J. Arnold Bolz) A great trip along the border route. |
