This one is for PJ, the creator of Boxcars:
I noticed today that they sell foil-pouched individual slices of SPAM that are approximately the size you'd use on a sandwich and are decently thick slices. At $.88 a slice I thought it was a rip-off until I considered PJ claims to eat his de-canned SPAM even after it starts turning pretty colors. This would avoid the whole is-it-to-green-to-eat debate (not that I have any idea if PJ even thinks twice about it, nor do I have any idea how long it takes to turn green). I have seen bloated moose carcasses in the park and those are bad enough. I'd prefer to avoid seeing a kilt-clad PJ carcass out there (though alcohol does preserve tissue doesn't it?) So for the Boxcar lovers out there, this product may be for you. I suspect it would also work pretty well fried up and diced into any egg dish, or stews, or whatever. |
