I was just about to give up the search for this item when I ran into it again this evening.  The "mini pitas" are produced by   (You need to Login or Register under the product name Pitettes Pita Bread.  They are about 2 inches in diameter and are produced in either white or whole wheat.  

The bag of 30 or so I bought tonight at a local (chain) grocery store was $1.99.  I think the first time I noticed them was as WalMart.
