Title: Dehydrated Doggie Treats
Post by Kawishiway on Jun 20th, 2004 at 8:32pm
Now... I'm not sure on this one but last year I took dry treats along for my dog (not enough) and wound up feeding him half of my jerky.  Them sad eyes just get to me.

Oliver is used to a little wet food every day as well.  Is there such a thing as dehydrated doggie recipies?

Supose I could ask my  Sister or Girl Friend.... LOL.... Kidding... ;D

(Saw that one coming so why not got it over with.)

Hey K-Heres an idea I do.

Buy some liver at the grocery store or meat market and dehydrate it. It is relatively inexpensive.
Cut it into strips and lay it on a tray and let it dry until it has a jerky like texture. Our dogs love them.

One word of warning. It might be best to dry it in the garage or on your deck outside. If you don't like the smell of liver, it will make your house stink for days. Believe me I learned the hard way the first time.

Now that one sent some laughs that caught me off gaurd.  Thanks Bog's

I gotta thank Uncle Popeye & Canoe Man ( Canoe boy ... a name I never did understand, as it don't fit him. )

I recently have recieved a doggie life vest, yellow, lol,  with a scoobie doobie logo on it.  Luv it!!!!! ;D

All found at Campmore.

I never bothered to read the campmore catalogue b4. Thought it was just more junk mail as I get so much camping stuff sometimes I don't look hard enough b4 deciding and tossing it.

Liver.....hate it.  (Juz one more bad childhood memory.)

Canoe Man.... gotta share.  My dad used to make us liver at least ever other week or so. (Mom could not stand it but ate it,)  When it was served, us kids would attempt to hide it under a napkin or something else as we were not allowed dogs in the house... (farmer mentality).

Upon dad's last day's he was served liver from the hospital.  He pushed it and hid it under a napkin or something.  I think he was saying something. Dunno. Dad was like that.

Thanks, Bogs.

K-

I hope your dog will enjoy his new Scoobie Doobie life vest. I didn't see that on it. Oh well.

I did get a laugh out of the liver. My dad was alot like that in certain ways.

Sure K-But I put it on a food dehydrator and let it dry a little faster. Sorry I should have clarified the drying technique. Guess you should throw that out and start over.
