Title: Re: Kickapoo River Trip

Be warned that this a ... ummmmm ... very popular river (read "party river").  Once the air temp warms on a Saturday (perhaps 10:00) the inexperienced masses hit the river and turn every sand bar into a party.  I tell you this for two reasons: 1) get off early so you are ahead of the craziness, and 2) Friday night campsites in the immediate area may be the same way (though I don't know because I have never camped there on a Friday night).

One of the outfitters has a campground right along the river.  I'm not sure but I think it is "Mr Duck" outfitters.  I've never stayed there so I can't recommend it.  The outfitter I used for the shuttle was "Titanic".  Nice folks, but no campground.  They recommend Brush Creek Campground, S190 Opal Road, Ontario, Wisconsin, 608-337-4344.  Again, I have not stayed there.

As far as fishing, I have seen anglers fishing days other than weekends.  They told me there are trout.  I have never seen an angler between Ontario and Bridge 5 on a Saturday.  Personally I wouldn't bother, but then again, I have never fished it.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
