Just was looking for other remote places to canoe and/or hike. Was thinking there surely should be some in Canada where you can get away. Any suggestions?

Lac La Ronge Provincial Park in Northern Sask., & the Atikaki Wilderness Provincial Park in Manitoba are two familiar places that immediatly spring to mind. Both see nowhere near the amount of traffic or ill-mannered, thoughtless, slob campers that the Quet or BW seem to recieve.

check out myccr.com for Canadian canoeing info - you want remote, they got it! and not so remote too. pick a province, any province. They are more oriented towards river expeditions, than lakes, but they cover all the parks as well.

Not you dlk, he probably meant lurkers who never post to share with us their experiences and trips. I would also check out Woodland Caribou PP in Ontario, their connection to Atikaki PP. ;) ;)

Woodland Caribou Provincial Park in Ontario - Incredible Scenery, Wild country, great fishing - oh, and caribou!
