MRE's & chloroquine... I did some Navy stuff in the P.I. 86-89.
Just loved those MRE's, yeah right, and not getting malaria.  I have never found the real deal MRE's for sale anywhere. The generic version from places like "cheap as dirt"  really suk, they are a rip off, they are not worth $0.25.  I had a case of the generics once and used them on short forays, they are too bulky and have a high "trash to carry" ratio for the food value.  IMHO don't even consider them.  :P
